1. How do I apply?

  • Online at www.ouac.on.ca/ouac-101 with OUAC PIN numbers which arrive at City Academy in late October.
  • City Academy will guide students through the application process.

2. When do I apply?

  • Applications are completed in November-December. A schedule will be posted outside of the guidance office.
  • Before January 17, 2018 when all OUAC applications are due.

3. How much does the application cost?

  • $150 for first 3 choices; each additional choice is $50 (OUAC accepts credit card payments)

4. How do universities access grades?

  • All grade 11 and 12 marks will be posted on OUAC. Current grades are posted every semester.
  • All timetabled courses are posted on OUAC to inform universities what credits the student plans to complete by June. Universities do not expect all courses to be completed by the application deadline (January 17).
  • Students taking credits outside City Academy are responsible for assuring that this grade is posted on OUAC by submitting the Report Card to City Academy

5. Can I view my completed application online?

  • Yes. You will need your OUAC reference number and PIN to log in.

6. Can I change my application once it has been submitted?

  • Yes. Your account will be locked for 24 hours after each change. An additional fee may apply.

7. Where can I find information about admission requirements?

  • EInfo (www.electronicinfo.ca) publishes minimum cut-off averages and prerequisite courses.
  • Additional requirements are posted on university websites (i.e. portfolios, auditions etc.). These are not listed on eINFO. *Meeting these requirements and deadlines is the individual student’s responsibility.

8. How is my admission average calculated?

  • Universities look at “top six” 4U or 4M courses, including the courses that are prerequisites for the “applied to” program.
  • Note: Queen’s requires three 4U courses; McGill and Schulich Business (YorkU) require four.
  • Repeated Courses: Most universities take the higher grade. However, some penalize repeats.

9. How do I apply to other Canadian universities?

  • Applications are found on the university’s website. Deadlines and fees vary.
  • Some universities can access your grades through OUAC; others require you to mail in transcripts.
  • City Academy will offer assistance when needed.

10. How do I apply to Colleges?

  • Online at www.ontariocolleges.ca (February 1, 2018). Assistance is available at the school.

11. What if I have already attended a university or college?
